The FDA knew all about the endoscope risk six years ago, but has ignored it. Action Alert!
Over the last few years, you may have seen one of the several tragic stories of antibiotic-resistant “superbug” outbreaks in major hospitals that have killed dozens of patients and sickened hundreds more.
Some of these outbreaks are linked to contaminated endoscopes—medical devices used to diagnose and treat diseases of the liver, bile ducts, pancreas, throat, stomach, and the intestines. Similar devices are used in colonoscopies, which means that the colonoscope risk is likely to be just as bad. The design of the endoscopes makes them difficult to clean. “Biological debris” can get stuck in microscopic crevices on the instruments and can remain there for the next patient—even after the instruments are cleaned and disinfected following the FDA-approved instructions from the manufacturer.
Especially worrisome is that the “superbug” we know to be spread by the contaminated scopes, Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), is often completely untreatable and has a mortality rate of 40% or more.
Since 2009, there have been four major CRE outbreaks in American hospitals.
- In February 2015, nine people were infected and two patients were killed by a CRE outbreak at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, also in Los Angeles, reported CRE infections in four patients who had procedures using endoscopes.
- In an outbreak that stretched from 2012 to 2014 at Seattle’s Virginia Mason Hospital, thirty-nine patients were infected with CRE resulting in eleven deaths.
- A 2013 outbreak at a Chicago-area hospital infected thirty-eight patients with the deadly bacteria.
- Fifteen patients were killed and dozens were infected at a Florida hospital in 2009.
You may recall our 2012 report of an investigation revealing that between 2004 and 2009, over 11,000 colonoscopies were performed at three different Veterans Administration hospitals using inadequately cleaned equipment—and as a result of these colonoscopies, thirteen veterans tested positive for hepatitis B, thirty-four for hepatitis C, and six for HIV.
Almost from the start, the FDA has chosen simply to look the other way.
Recent investigations show that during the 2009 outbreak in Florida, health experts from the CDC together with other epidemiologists warned the FDA that the problem was likely not limited to Florida, and that action should be taken to warn hospitals of the danger. Only months later did the FDA issue any warning whatsoever—a measly two sentences buried in the fifty-seventh paragraph in a general advisory on the proper cleaning of medical scopes!
Not until February of this year—six years after they themselves were warned, and after at least twenty-eight people had died and dozens more had been made sick—did the FDA finally issue a proper warning that the endoscopes that are linked to superbug outbreaks may still transmit infections even when cleaned as directed by the manufacturers.
This March the FDA completed a guidance with additional measures to improve the safety of endoscopes and other hard-to-clean devices. But—and this is a big but—while the guidance may make the equipment safer, it still won’t make them sterile.
The FDA’s inaction is even more inexcusable considering health experts’ warnings that many of the infections from endoscopes go unnoticed, according to Jeffrey Duchin, a public health official who directed the investigation of the Seattle outbreak. Because CRE is so dangerous, it gets “red-flagged” by hospital staff and investigated. Patients who are made sick from more run-of-the-mill bacteria are simply treated with routine antibiotics, and that’s that. Who knows how many infections have been spread as a result of these scopes?
Duchin summed it up neatly: “There’s a likelihood that we’re just seeing a very small subset of the universe of infections from these types of scopes.”
Why is the FDA so reticent on this subject? Could it be because endoscopy and colonoscopy are such enormous businesses, producing billions of dollars of revenue per year? Powerful special interests do not want to see any changes in this area of medicine.
Action Alert! Write to the FDA and ask them to do more to protect the public from non-sterile endoscopes and prevent more deadly outbreaks. Please send your message immediately.
So, warnings are nice, but one has to wonder, is there a known way to sterilize these endoscopes with 100% efficacy? If yes why is it not mandated nation-wide, without ifs and buts?? If not why it has not been developed and what is the FDA waiting for?
There is. It is called STEAM. But then the Endoscope would have to made with High Temperature Electronics. That, I am sure would add a whopping $15-$20 to the cost of the Instrument. Sad deal is, these scopes can be made so cheap now (Under 100 bucks), they can literally be thrown out after each use. But am certain that ObamaCare Insurance companies would NOT allow that.

Blaming the problem on Obamcare is just politicking. This is NOT something that should be politicized at all. You are correct, the electronics can nowadays be designed to survive to 150-200degC which should be enough to kill all bugs. I wonder whether the plastic parts used today can survive those temperatures (but if not that is also an easy problem to solve). Hence, it is just a cost/benefit issue (where the benefit is saving hundreds of lives a year and cost being peanuts) which could be easily solved by a law or a mandate by the FDA.

Ha. Ha. Things that get stuck in your body are generally STERILIZED, which means any and all trace of any living things on them are destroyed. Been SOP in the OR since the benefits of sterilization were known. Preferably with an autoclave (basically, a pressure-steam dishwasher that cooks any and all nasties). Things that are too delicate to go in the autoclave get a good soaking in alcohol or the like. (Crying for “mandating” sterilization is like crying for–I dunno–requiring people to prop a ladder against something before they try to climb it. If you don’t do it, there’s probably a pretty specific reason not to)
The problem is, some gadgets have nooks and crannies where bugs can shelter from the blast of the autoclave or the burn of the alcohol. it’s like why they tell you not to reuse water bottles; the ridges in the bottle make it hard to properly clean them.
The fault is in the design of the scopes for not being cleanable. Most of this surrounds a particular brand. This is the first article I’ve seen that goes after endoscopes in general.
More like the toxic plastic the bottles are made from start to leech into the product upon reuse (even though they were already leeching into it anyway).

Were you talking about reuseable bottles? I was talking about bottled water. They’re made of the same sort of plastic as milk jugs. Unlike milk jugs, which are fairly smooth-sided, bottled water (especially single-serving) bottles are made so thin that they need to add ridges so they’ll hold their shape (though with some brands, that’s questionable). Those ridges make it almost impossible to prevent bacteria from settling and growing in the bottles.
Sure but that is only one of the problems considering they are toxic in the first place. All plastic is made of some form of petroleum derivative and use lots of plasticizers and other toxic chemicals like BPA/etc. I avoid all plastic containers and remove any I find in my home.

Correction: They *can* and *should* be recycle. If you do the actual backtrace on it you find that most of that plastic (including awful things such as micro-beads) end up in the oceans which is destroying it. Giant floating islands of trash that nobody talks about (it is disgraceful but not talking about it only makes it worse). Absolutely, all plastics and anything that can be — should be recycled. That is only a common reaction for an evolved species of higher conscience; the problem clearly being that the human species hasn’t achieved this pinnacle of development yet (and since they are planting agent orange crops merely to sicken their own people and sell more toxic chemicals, it doesn’t seem likely that they will ever develop such a higher thought process. Too *stuck* on their petty fabrications.).
One would think that these could be re-designed so that they could be cleaned and sterilized thoroughly… makes sense to me, anyway! This is a shock to me, I have had 2 colonoscopies in the past 10 years, and now knowing this makes me very nervous about having anymore.

I work with endoscopes every day and the truth behind the scopes that were transmitting CRE are that the new models were modified by the scope manufacturer without FDA approval. It was a small modification that closed of a port that the older models have. It is a port to allow disinfectant to be flushed through during the cleaning process. The scope has a wire that allows the practitioner to control a lever at the tip of the scope. The manufacturer closed this off with out FDA approval and this allowed CRE to take hold in the new scopes that don’t allow scope cleaners to flush disinfectant through. It was the scope manufacturers fault not the FDA. This is way the main scope manufacturer in the USA is being sued by multiple facilities.
Shared blame, for they are the agency tasked with checking on these kinds of things. If something can so easily skirt your regulations, what is the point of an agency? Like I posted earlier, they only serve to do more harm than good.
Yeah I agree and just to be clear I am not defending the FDA. I’m just pointing out something that wasn’t included in this article. Every time a company decides to introduce something new or change an existing product, they need there is a lengthy FDA approval process. It costs the company money and time, something they try and avoid or bypass if they can. Olympus decided their modification wasn’t “big” enough to merit FDA approval. That is why Olympus is being hit with lawsuits from hospitals and penalties from the FDA. Again I am not defending the FDA just sharing some “insider” information.
Yeah, the most ridiculous thing about how this laughable system works is the voluntarily submissions from industry/corporations. Conflict of interest, much? Changing their practices from only increasing shareholders margins to actually contributing to society while being mindful of their impact and the good/bad they can do… would change a lot over the short term. The problem is that there is an entire category of “people” who fight to prevent this very thing from being accomplished. They don’t want their toxic monopoly to end they only care about making more for themselves before they destroy everything and that is the biggest failure of this society. Knowing these things how could I honestly and sincerely join and contribute to such an abusive society of deception, abuse and self destruction?
Could it be that the FDA, underfunded by a do nothing congress, exclusively in service to big business, is overwhelmed by lack of resources, in order to deal with the myriad of public health issues that filter through. It comes down to the idiotic small government syndrome, that has infested politicians and voters alike. So I wind up getting severe salmonella poisoning from a more than likely uninspected batch of imported smoked salmon, because during Bush’s watch, he and congress made sure that the USDA was underfunded, so that he, and other Republican politicians paid off by Tyson Foods, the largest chicken processor in the US, who had lots of violations, would be paid back through underfunding legislation. This trend continues today, especially from the influence of the Tea Party’s small government mania. So we’ll continue to see the same non-action about cleaning up healthcare delivery and food production, not to mention the continued inexcusable contamination of our earth, air and water.
Clearly you are confused on a profound level. If an agency is in service to big business why would you want to give them even more if they aren’t responsible with what they currently get?? If you really think big government (or any government) is any good you are delusional.
If you want to avoid the dirty food, avoid it! But don’t consume it knowing that it is bad and complain about the outcome! I no longer eat chicken and other meats because the industry is completely dirty and what they produce is unhealthy to ingest.

The FDA needs to shut down this scope manufacturer immediately no questions asked.
They should be sued for billions and put out of business. One has to wonder: how come the FDA did not notice this change? Were they sleeping the the wheel or are they in collusion with the incompetent manufacturers? Is there a way for a patient to ascertain what type of scope is used by the doctor BEFORE the procedure?

It can be reversed with better diet and environment but the industry would rather make money off of getting people sick on purpose. For them, continuing this practice (rather than alleviating it at the source with better diet) makes them money both ways! From the procedures themselves and from those who get sick from the procedures!

I agree that diet and exercise will be of great benifit to help reduce risk of this happening. But, how are you going to change everyone’s diet? Please explain that to me. And genetics plays a good part in cancer. What’s wrong with using modern medicine to assist in preventing deaths. Especially since these prceedures can help in diagnosing this illness

The FDA is just like the FAA, and just like The VA Hospital administration in Washington, and all the other bloated dysfunctional agencies there. Our government does not work for the citizens of this country, and we all know it. They don’t care about us unless we are a group that represents votes that will affect an election. They work for the business owners of this country that provide the billions of dollars being wasted on political campaigns instead of services that will benefit us. And, don’t even look into the billions wasted on foreign aid instead of services to Americans. I’m sorry to say this, my father was a doctor, but malpractice insurance has allowed apathy to become a part of medical service provider’s attitude toward what they do. It used to be that the main concern was saving or improving someone’s life. Now, big health organizations, and large practices are about limiting liability and making as much money as possible – people’s lives be damned. If these things don’t change, what will it be like for our children to live in the USA? Term limits, and campaign contribution limits would help, but does anyone think our political leaders will ever let those two things happen?????

I`ve known three people who had serious damage done to their intestines during colonoscopies, perforation causing sepsis , they survived , but it was a long stay in the hospital and very dicey !
That happens as a result of poor research & poor Due Diligence by the Patient, COMBINED WITH VERY Badly Trained and, frequently, Drug Addicted Doctors!! “Sepsis” is EXTREMELY Serious & almost 100% Lethal!
PLEASE URGE those people to Retain “Criminal Medical Malpractice Lawyers,” who will also sue the Hospitals, and win. Because ONE CASE of SEPSIS, at ANY Medical Facility, ALWAYS means there were MANY Cases of Sepsis BEFORE the LAST case, and that Hospital Administrators PURPOSELY & EXPRESSLY Conspired to Hide their Sepsis cases! A Good Medical Malpractice Lawyer almost never loses a Sepsis case!!
My mother-in-law was killed by a colonoscopy. The gastroenterologist didn’t want to perform it due to her age, but her Primary care provider (a general practitioner) insisted. Mom, a vibrant, active 80 year old was suffering from weight loss due to poor appetite and digestive upset. The stupid PCP hadn’t told her to take probiotics after a round of antibiotics, duh, and went right for the invasive procedure. She ended up with a dime sized hole in her lower bowel, followed by surgery to repair it, followed by more antibiotics, followed by several years of UTI’s, more antibiotics, digestive upset, no probiotics and eventual hospitalization where after “pickling her with antibiotics” (the doctor’s description) with NO PROBIOTICS, she still refused food – so they gave her a feeding tube that was inserted incorrectly and poured the food into her abdominal cavity! She died a horrible death due to peritonitis! Doctors are idiots!
Not all of them, but too many of them. And those who are responsible for the malpractices you describe should be kicked out of the profession for good. However the AMA would not let that happen. The AMA is one of the most corrupt and most dangerous organizations that ever existed in the US. The AMA is one of the main reasons of our exponentially increasing health care cost for worse health outcomes compared to most developed nations. They should be abolished by law, or taken over like corrupt trade unions were taken over in the past.

An even better question: are colonoscopies really saving as many lives through what they claim to be preventing, over the risks involved? Colonoscopies have become a great money-maker, and par for the course for anyone over about age 45 these days. Why? How many are actually necessary? Question the necessity and do your homework before agreeing to any and all medical procedures, other than the obvious emergencies. If you have no symptoms, start with a stool test first – there are so many tests that are non-invasive, why start with “going in and having a look around” and dragging someone else’s potentially fatal germs with the scope? Why? Follow the money.

People believe all the BS doctors tell them. When I first arrived in the USA from civilized European medicine the gynecologist asked me to place a tie-dye cloth over the disrobed part of me. I asked him if ALL his lady patients use that SAME cloth. He said yes. That much for hygiene ! And this was a prominent Upper West side doctor, highly recommended. No basic knowledge about disease that can spread by just sharing a towel…I took notice right there and then that I have to stand up to these guys taught they are gods, while they lack in common knowledge of hygiene.
They have intentionally rejected the natural way and are running a monopoly on life itself. Their intention is to get people sick on purpose merely to reap more profits. It is a sad system we share here in the US and I unfortunately never got a taste of anything else, like you.

Doctor at “Huntington Memorial” in Pasadena}, performed it AND DISCOVERED 27 PRE-CANCEROUS POLYPS, and EXPERTLY Cut ALL of them out –that Night!!
Subsequent Microscopic exams of the polyps revealed that some of the were weeks away from Metastasising!!

My mother died of MRSA contracted at Duke Medical Center/Raleigh, in 2009. The small print on the hospital admission forms referred it as a “possible hazard of admission”– and they were off the hook. .She was only 77 and had no prior medical conditions– nor on any medications– before her admission.
First, I’m sorry to hear that, I’m 73, every time I visited my wife in the hospital, “I” got sick, not serious because I have a strong immune system. ME !, I still would have consulted with a Lawyer, one that didn’t get paid until we won. Hospitals HAVE to be help responsible.
Considering Agenda 21 (ref. on youtube) and that the head of the FDA was the Vice President of Monsanto, this doesn’t surprise me in the least. The V.A. had me scheduled for both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy about two months ago. After reading the warnings, especially the part about potential death, I opted out. They hate me. I quit all my meds in November of 2013. Feeling better every day.

Oh, I’m 100% organic, only drink spring water and make tea’s and coffee (everything organic) using spring water. Take no drugs except cannabis, which is an herbal medication, and don’t drink alcohol or smoke tobacco. Zero vices. Much simpler. Much healthier, too. I juice raw organics, take herbs like chanca piedra and bitter melon, and always looking for new and wonderful health avenues. No sugar, too. I beat my type 2 diabetes. I’m the king of my health. Everyone that does this lives the example others will follow. If they enjoy living.
I use Neem tree instead of Cannabis. Still makes cancer cells destroy itself, proven against chemo resistant breast cancer, prostate cancer, etc. Kills pain, antimicrobial, antifungal, antibactierial, antidiabetic, etc. You can drink unlimited amounts of the leaf as a tea, the bark is good for herpes, studies have even shown its good for HIV. doesn’t get you high, not illegal in any of the states. I am growing my own Neem tree. Just had to make sure not to get a curry tree! ( some suppliers don’t know the difference) Other than that, we pretty much follow many of the same protocols. Drs HATE that I am HEALTHIER than when I was following their regimen. They wanted me on statins, I took red rice yeast instead! Problem solved. They told me I would NOT live to see the year 2000. Thanks, Jeanine, I didn’t know that. I used to use Neem oil for getting rid of bugs on my cannabis plants. How could I have missed this? You don’t want to ingest too much of it though, be sure to always research whatever you consume. Neem oil can indeed be toxic and even fatal if consumed in the improper way or amounts. Do your research, knowledge is power!

The info on neem oil can be somewhat deceptive. It is claimed safe for fleas but I was using it on my kitty and she got seriously ill from it. Turns out that neem oil can indeed do harm if it is ingested improperly or in the incorrect amounts. I nursed her back to health and I have stopped applying neem to her entirely and simply brush the fleas out and kill them in the sink.
It is better to be skeptical and do your research than to blindly believe anything.
Neem leaf can be safely used on cats. Cats are really sensitive to many things. They can even ingest it safely or get it in their eyes. My mom is currently treating her kittens for ringworm with fresh Neem leaf tea.
Yeah, my issue was I was using the Essential oil extract which is dangerous for animals since most of them have no means of digesting essential oils effectively. I was ill-informed and didn’t do enough research!
Old farm vet treatment. This worked for a kitten the modern vets could not cure of ringworm, After the owners spent $500 dollars. The owner contacted me, I called my old friend the farm vet (He was a vet ,before antibiotics were invented) One part bleach, 7 parts water ,add to a jar. Dab on bare spots for two weeks. If on face, use extreme caution ! I used a fan to remove fumes and dry the mixture, If more than one kitten, separate till dry. Do not vaccinate any animals while treating for ringworm. System (immune) is not functioning correctly for ringworm to flourish. Use gloves when treating and disinfect bedding and room kittens are in. Best of luck. The kitten I treated lived a long life…………passed at 15 years in my home.
Thanks. I’ll put that in my information to use of absolutely necessary. The Neem tea is working though. You take 5 fresh tea leaves ( I took them off of the Neem tree I am growing organically) and simmer them in 1 cup of pure water for 10 minutes. Then let steep for another 10 minutes. After that you can use it, just let it cool enough of your going to use it on animals, or add honey and drink it as a tea for yourself. This is a STRONG tea. It may not LOOK like it, but it is!
I gave this recipe to my mom to use on the kittens. The very next day she saw marked improvement and the kittens feel soothed by the treatments. Also, they can safely ingest it, and it can get in their eyes without fear of problems. We did need to give the little kitties foot baths of the tea to treat their nails, since cat scratches are horrible for transmission of germs. That helped tremendously.
We are also giving them half an eyedropper full of the tea a day ( you can do this for up to 30 days) so that they can fight it from the inside, too. It will also improve their immunity.
If any of the kitten’s ringworm show resistance to the Neem, we will try your method.
I got Cat Scratch Fever from playing with my cat when I was in my late 20’s. You’re right, bad infections from cat claws. Had to have a lymph node cut out from the side of my chest under my armpit. It went all the way through the muscle and he couldn’t believe the infection was so deep. When I heard the scalpel scratch my ribs, I almost passed out. Now I have a dog. Much safer.
The leaf and bark are ingestible. The oil is in small amounts of it is cold pressed & organic. But basically every part of the plant can be used medicinally and safely, if you know how. Neem was even written in Sanskrit as a medicine 4500 years ago!
Look up Triphala, an Ayurvedic remedy, made from three fruits. Highly recommend, can be taken by babies. I took it for a while, it takes time to work, is gentle, non toxic.

Yes and No. You use different parts of the same Neem tree. Neem LEAVES are safe for ingestion, even for cats. (cats can ingest Neem TEA made form the LEAVES) Neem oil is usually from the seeds which is way too strong unless you know exactly what you are doing. The bark is also commonly ingested, but NOT safe for cats, too strong for them. EVERY part of the Neem tree is usable!!! The clinical studies on cancer were done with Neem bark or leaves usually.
Neem oil is indeed used for getting rid of insects, but NOT as a poison. It acts as a birth control and anti-feedant. So pregnant women, infants, and small children are not going to want to use Neem either, just to be on the safe side.
The neem oil in garden centers has other things added to it making it so that it is NOT safe to even put it on your skin. If you are going to use Neem oil, get COLD PRESSED Neem oil. (best sources I know are Organic Herbal Essences, Neem Pro, and Dyna Gro) Other Neem oils remove the active components and sell the remainder to you. COld pressed gets you ALL the oil, so you get all of the active components you need.

For me to recommend something, I would need to know what you were wanting to use it for……BUT, For EXTERNAL applications ONLY, my next goto that has some similar qualities to neem is Tamanu. Although if you are allergic to true nuts, you MIGHT have a problem as well.
Skip the red rice yeast, it contains a statin and so it will end up doing damage to you just as the marketed drugs will do. I have high cholesterol (about 300) but I do not worry about it. I tried beta sitosterol mainly for my high triglicerides but it backfired on me causing swollen feet! So I just eat well and take CoQ10 and fish oil to help my ticker. The bastards know that statins lower CoQ10 and so they know that the statins are probably responsible for creating heart attacks rather than reducing the number!
Red rice yeast acts similar to a statin but does not contain a statin in lowering cholesterol and triglycerides. It is always good to take it with Coq10, as just like statins, it will also lower your Coq10 levels to help make them work.
However, studies have shown that men should not take fish oil supplements, as it increases their risks for prostate troubles, including cancer.
Good for you! However, a glass of wine with dinner would improve both your health and your mood. Try it, you can find organic wines easily nowadays.

Bitter Melon and Bitter Gourd are the same fruit. I wonder why you can’t tolerate them (cinnamon and bitter gourd)? How I beat my type 2 diabetes. This is opening up a long writing, and I need to get offline. But here’s as quick as I can explain it. Studying everything I could on the subject, I first quit ALL processed sugars (and wouldn’t take an artificial sweetener if you paid me). Then quit all processed foods high in carbs, quit bread, don’t drink alcohol, and switched to an all organic diet. Never drink sodas. Go for walks or bike rides daily, stay semi-active through the days (although recently have been feeling worn out by high heat and humidity so I stay on the boat most of the day). I just decided, they’re killing me with meds, so I quit them… boom, one day, bye bye big pharma. If I’m going to die, it won’t be from their efforts anymore. I went through a lot of ups and downs, feeling great one day, and miserable the next. I had an Omega juicer but it removed the pulp, so I bought a Ninja, and the pulp remains. I juice greens with a little fruit and add things like Ginger to the mix. Ginger helps with digestion. I just take a Ginger capsule and open it and dump the contents in the juice mix with everything else. I add dandelion, which is good for the liver. I add all organic ingredients, every single thing is organic except the spring water. Sometimes I sprinkle some Organic Turmeric in, since it helps a lot with joint pains, and protects me from cancer. If you just approach it as being your own doctor, you will try new mixes, and see which things make your body energized and feeling whole. That’s all I do, research a lot, and juice with whatever feels right. The doctors are going nuts at the V.A. and never even contact me anymore. I told them I knew how they operated and I was opposed to big pharma trying to get me on their list of victims. I recently declined a colonoscopy/endoscopy appointment. I don’t trust them. They want to kill me because I’m suing them, and they don’t want to pay me all that back pay. They’re just as criminal as the rest of the medical industries. Go to your local health food store and be a regular. If there’s any way you can get the bitter melon tea (I buy it on eBay, it comes from the far east, Thailand, I think) get it. It is good for curing diabetes. Chanca Piedra is good or keeping bile ducts cleansed, and it breaks up gall stones and kidney stones, and you can take it for as long as you need to, with no harmful side effects. You can buy it at the health food stores in capsule form, or in tea form on eBay. I also found both in a Chinese food market. Get determined, you can heal yourself. God already gave us all we need. We don’t need legal drug pushers at all.
Just to add to this, but fresh, organic dandelion heads (just as they open up-yellow) will clear kidney stones, and beets or beet powder (WITH the fiber) will clean and help rebuild your liver.
I juice as well, I make a green lemonade each morning with Laticino kale, romaine lettuce, gala apples, and lemons (all organic). Great way to start the day!…and alkinizing.

Sour sop (graviola) is good for diabetes treatment as well. Studies have shown it helps improve insulin production.

a strong coumarin (5%) content, while true cinnamon (Ceylon) does not
(.004%). I have Hereditary Angioedema and cannot take cassia, but can
tolerate true cinnamon.

Right, I forgot to mention soursop. In fact I forgot to get more. Thanks for reminding me. You can get the fruit or capsule form. I miss organic gardening or I’d grow a tree or two. Before I bought my boat I had established a big organic garden on a property I was renting. I had a peach tree that gave me peaches year round, two fig bushes that also were constant producers of delicious figs, papaya trees all over the property, front and back, two pomegranates, a mango tree that broke early in life and became two trunks, both just starting to really get nice when I left to live aboard. Had veggies and a lot more. I sure do miss organic gardening. It made me feel closer to God just walking through it and talking to my plants, caressing their leaves and trunks. Always barefoot for good static dissipation (grounding). Gardens are spirit filled energy restoration spaces. I believe we were designed to have symbiotic relationships with plants. We feed them the C02 they need, and they provide us with clean, pure oxygen. God is very good for positive healing.

Thank you. It’s what I do (deep research). Naturally. First I discover a potential benefit, then I look at it from all angles, then I do deeper research. Lastly, I run it through a few trusted sources, and if it is found to have real value, I use it to my benefit. Becoming my own doctor puts me at risk, and I become my own guinea pig, but medical doctors use us as guinea pigs anyway. So I test things on myself, and if I feel better, I stick with it. If not, out it goes… I’ve discovered a lot this way that corrected my path, like cooking with olive oil. Did you know olive oil becomes toxic under high heat? And Turmeric… too much can be harmful. Everything (healthy) in moderation. Unhealthy? Off the list. Fasting is healthy, in moderation. Very healthy, in fact. So as I pass the 8 1/2 year mark of fighting the V.A. for “service connection” on my disability, and forced to strictly ration my food funds each month, I find solace in knowing that when I am forced to fast (monthly, and for 8 1/2 years, and counting), it is actually quite a nice blessing. When I was 18 I was into organic gardening, yoga, transcendental meditation, etc., and now it serves me very well. I’m 64 now, and using a lot of the old techniques I learned in my youth for healing and improved health. I share the things I know with others, and protest Monsanto’s toxic GMO’s, chemtrails, Fluoride, Mercury, and a long list of attacks on health openly. I refuse to be intimidated by fears of death. We have free will. I will myself to conquer fears, even death, because I’ll just come back stronger and mightier in my fight. We all will if we never lose faith in our own powers. Did you know that the earliest Egyptians taught that you have 135 senses? Why, then, would our very tightly controlled and manipulated society teach us that we have only 5 senses, and maybe a 6th (intuition)? Doesn’t that fall neatly into the whole dumbing down of America over the past several decades? They don’t want us aware. If we learned about the fullness of our powers as individuals, they’d run and hide. So it should be our most earnest determination to seek and discover every hidden truth, and fend off the warnings, fend off the attacks, and keep digging until we strike the mother-lode of truth. Every single one. Consciousness is rising, and they know it. They can’t stand it. Any reference about Egyptians and 135 senses? What do you think about home made pyramids for healing??? I have an old book on how to make a small pyramid…
It’s been so long since I read about it I can’t recall. I can try to look it up. And it may have been 130 senses. But give or take 5 senses, which they say is all we have, and it still is an impressive number. I had a friend in the early 70’s who built a pyramid in his back yard, and he’d catch a buzz on some herb and meditate in it. He seemed pretty mellow. He also had a sensory deprivation tank and would float in it in a saltwater solution, and meditate. He swore by it, but later said you can’t stay in them for too long. Personally, I’ve been studying Ayahuasca and would love to try some, and then if I like it, try it in a sensory deprivation tank. Ayahuasca provides DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptomine), and DMT is called “The Spirit Molecule” (ref. on youtube). When we are born we produce large amounts of DMT naturally in our brains. When we die the same thing occurs. I believe it is connected to the secrets of everything spirit related. There are some great testimonies on youtube, everyone should look up “DMT: The Spirit Molecule” on youtube and watch it. Amazing stuff. I’m an old hippie and used to do LSD when I was 16 to 28 years old. I was like a captain of the trip, handled it very well, and my friends always let me drive when we went out tripping because I always had it under control. If we got stopped by cops I did the talking. Never got busted while tripping. LSD is associated with taboo’s created by society. If taken responsibly, I believe it can be beneficial. It is not naturally out there, it has to be made in a lab environment, so I don’t like that as much as real natural hallucinogenics like psilocybin mushrooms or mescaline found in mescal buttons from cactus. DMT just inspires me to at least try it once. I’m deeply spirit based, and love digging into more cosmic things. Mainly because I’ve seen 3 UFO’s in my lifetime, and none while under the influence of any drugs or other mind altering substances. Okay, I’ve really taken this off on a tangent so back to pyramids. I’m sure you can find how to videos on youtube on how to build them. I think orientation of the pyramid is most important, or it may be a total waste of effort. Tesla was onto something with harnessing electricity from the Earths power grid, and he studied pyramids and ancient Egyptology. I think the pyramids were power sources, and were aligned with Earth’s power grid so precisely that they provided enough power to light up the world. Pyramids are found all around the world. The pyramids in Giza are aligned with the grid and also are placed proportionately with Sirius. I think that’s because they came from Sirius. I believe we’re all hybrids from ancestors that came here to start over. Perhaps they destroyed their own world through technology and industrial pollution, just as we’re doing now to Earth. I think we’re planet hoppers, who, over time, develop new worlds until we destroy them with bumbling idiots in power, and by then we have developed a space program that finds new worlds and takes us to them to start again. I see space ships as seed pods, planting life. I know this all sounds far out, it is. But I also worked at Kennedy Space Center, like my dad, and have a pretty good I.Q. (135), so I feel I’ve grown my brain well, and look forward to more truth to feed my hypothesis. But I can’t say pyramids heal. Others speculate and theorize that they do, but I’m not that certain yet to make that claim. They may be great for foods for preservation, for seeds, and for other things, but I just don’t know enough to say with certainty. Sorry for the long-winded writing.

I eat organic coconut oil raw, do oil pullings, and cook with it. I also rub any that spills on my arms and anywhere I sense dryness. Also behind my ears. Good stuff. Sometimes I massage some into my scalp. Healthy for all human parts, inside and out. When I went to the Keys with my dog, my engine broke down and we were stranded in Rock Harbor off Key Largo for 5 days while I did the repairs. Very challenging time for me, since I’m disabled, and this was my first time repairing a diesel. Money was extremely tight and ran out by the 3rd day. No money or food, I had to use my net to catch passing coconuts. We lived on coconuts for 3 days, my dog and I. He ate it right up. I’d take a bite and hand a piece to him, back and forth, so he understood the situation better. We made it back 5 days later. Quite an adventure. And coconuts saved the day. I’ll check out Beta Glucans. I’ve heard of colloidal silver, waiting until I see more results, both pro and con.

Not really, it’s a fairly new field of study for me. I do know that vaccines are NOT safe, and that the number of vaccines they give children have skyrocketed over the years. Vaccines contain all kinds of garbage, human cells, Mercury, Formaldehyde, and the list goes on. Girls who get the HPV vaccine end up dead or screwed up for life. My go to guy is Dr Mercola, he’s on youtube and I subscribe to his videos because he’s extremely informative and it’s very easy to comprehend his stuff. Great source for health and healing. Not sure which prescribed med you’re referring to. Sounds like your metabolism has been really messed up. I would do a number of things. First, find a good detox system that works, and research the safety of doing it often. Get vitamin D from the sun daily, but not so my you burn. Exercise often because your blood needs oxygen. And after every detox, eat something organic, like lunch, and take a probiotic daily. The higher the number of bacteria, the better. Aim for probiotics that have billions of good bacteria. Do this religiously. Also, sweating is detoxing, so don’t be opposed to mowing the lawn or working out in the sun, up to where you feel you’ve worked up a good sweat. Stop using tap water for anything that goes into your body. It contains Fluoride and Chlorine, and probably more bad things. Fluoride and Chlorine cause cancer. Switch from your standard toothpaste to one without Fluoride. Mouthwash, too. You can buy both at health food stores. If they don’t carry it, find one that does. Even when taking showers or baths, take cool water showers and baths, because the skin is an organ, and it absorbs Fluoride when heat is applied (heat expands, cold contracts, so cold water contracts the pores in your skin, while hot water expands the openings of pores and allows Fluoride to enter your body.Think like a scientist, and do lots of non-medical related studies. Medical means medicine, and that means big pharma. Avoid them like the plague. If I can think of more I’ll be back. Praying for healing in you. Oh, last thing, avoid stress, and practice meditation to manage stress better. Develop a spirit of acceptance, and change the things you can, and pray for God to take care of the rest. Harmonic balance is key to healing. Walk is peace, think no negative thoughts if at all possible, and deflect them when they enter your mind. Defeating stress will make your challenge much easier.

What happened to the camera pills that scanned the whole digestive tract? They were single use disposable (obviously as they came out in stool) and were really the in thing for a while. It did basically the same thing as the scopes do except it couldn’t excise polyps and the like.
Another case of “it makes too much sense” and it doesn’t hurt or maim the user and thus they got rid of it, i’m sure.

That isn’t a legitimate argument or justification for anything the industry does.
Also realize that 100 years ago the hygiene was worse (bedpans tossed onto streets, etc). The world was also much more real back then, there wasn’t some giant concrete society to shelter all of the weak and feeble from their proper demise and thus you have the society you have now. Just because you may live longer doesn’t mean you are living better; men lived to 25 in the medieval ages and they lived fuller lives than you can even dream of.
So glad you can speak for the wonderful lives men lived in the medieval ages. Fuller? Lots of heads chopped off in those days or you might be living the life of a serf. Sounds like you would like to have death deciders to get rid of the weak and feeble. That kind of society is not for me, although I have seen it in my lifetime.

What I mean by this is some like to lead a life of monotony, never risking it all, never living up to greatness (such as the caliber of Greatness that is Alexander the Great – he didn’t cower to forces merely so he could live another day, he imagined glory and he risked it all and grasped it!).
You don’t become a great general by being a coward who just wants to crawl through life as long as you make it by to live another day, kissing whichever boot is put in your face. Is that next day really worth it if it means you have no spine, or won’t defend yourself, or have allowed treacherous things to happen under your watch?
What I mean is that those men use to stand up for what they believed in. They had honor and would fight to the death for it and anyone who wants to accomplish anything great will realize that you must be willing to sacrifice everything to do so. They may of had their heads chopped off but those heads experienced much more in their short lives than you will in your entire one. If you live to be 100 but haven’t experienced even a fraction of what someone who dies younger has, have you really lived at all?

My grandmother passed at ripe 100 years of age. 25 years ago. No meds, no procedures , passed of old age, and long good living. No doctors kept her alive, just daily walks, reading, lot of gardening, and making clothes for all grandchildren.
It’s apparent that your reading skills are limited. I never implied that I knew the salmon I ate was “dirty.” it was sold as a package by Trader Joe’s, a retailer, who I and many others trusted. When i opened the package,shipped from Scotland, there was no discernible strange odor. As for funding government agencies that are in some kind of conspiratorial relationship with big business. That is sheer speculation, born out of the distorted mind(s) of conspiracy theorists. Which i believe to be an emerging kind of personality disorder. Alongside chem trails theorists, who show pictures of commercial jets outfitted with large tanks in their interiors, purported to spray vapor trail chemicals on us, in order to subdue the population. What’s the alternative…..anarchy? The law of the jungle trumps any civilized considerations? Of course we had small government. Now with a population 100 times greater, it’s necessary to have a sufficient sized government to accomodate at least the basic needs and rights of its citizens as written in the constitution. Protection is one of them, not just military, but has to include protection against disease, poisonous food and medicines, etc. If there is undue corporate influence at the FDA and the USDA, as well as the EPA, it’s the fault of a GOP Congress, beholden to big business,who encourages such a nefarious relationship.

I have steadfastly refused to go under either procedure despite a lot of pressure to do so. I switched doctors after one of them tried pressuring me to have a colonoscopy FIFTEEN times. After my last refusal, he gave me the Michigan handshake and said “It was nice doing business with you”. I will never allow myself to be put through another Michigan handshake again, let alone go through a colonoscopy even once.

We only had a brief thirty year window of prosperity, singularly created by the collective bargaining power of our unions, before Pres. Reagan begin his assault on them.

If you, and your youngster fellows, want change, get out and become pro-active supporting candidates like Bernie Sanders, a Democratic Socialist, instead of the seventeen GOP clowns, who have absolutely nothing to say that is worth listening to, for the 99% of us, much less possessing the least bit of desire to support the genuine needs of the rapidly disappearing, hard working middle class. Work to kick those corrupt GOP politicians out of office. But alas, my best guess is, that you’ll more than likely sit on you hands, pissed off, waving your factoids in the face of other commentors, then vote for Rand Paul, and hope that government will shrink, to where anarchy becomes the new normal.
I would never vote for Rand Paul in a million years. I probably won’t even vote because there is no reason too, it doesn’t count and only crooks are running. The system is broken and it needs to be removed, not revolved. We seem to be saying some of the same things and you don’t seem to be completely lost, just seem to still be stuck in their divisive fabrications that are merely a means to separate us all. Example to prove my point is you immediately started drawing party lines, even though I hate all parties and would happily drop them all in a volcano before I ever voted for any of them ever again. (As for Sanders, Sure the stuff Bernie says sounds great, but like all politicians, he has another agenda in the works. Claiming to be a socialist is not that great of a title and you have to admit, trump was right, he did look pretty weak letting those black chicks take his mic. Haha.)
Merely participating in a broken, corrupt, failed system does no good to ones cause but it certainly does make one feel more entitled to complain. However, you must understand that I am complaining from a perspective of all of life. When industries and corporations poison the world, they mess with a higher power — more than just some fabricated system of control like this broken joke of a society that is equivalent to nothing more than modern slavery. I hate the politicians, but I hate the corporations and the scum who harm the earth, nature, and all of life on it more. What can you do against crooks who have millions of dollars and run entire industries? Well it just so happens that of the six nations where more of the population, or i should say just about all of the population are enjoying the highest quality of life and sense of well being, five of them are Scandinavian Socialist countries. Unfortunately, our Capitalist rulers have sold the people a bill of goods, for generations, about Socialism being evil. Why? Because those who have the money know that they’ll be taxed accordingly, and will no longer have a tax free haven for their gains, and no longer pay minimal taxes. They’ll have to share with the 99%. They will no longer be able to do their dirty business mostly unregulated. In these Scandinavian countries, corporations are profitable, but are regulated by the government, as they should be. Why? because it’s human nature to want to operate out of sheer self-interest and opportunism. Which, by the way I have no issue with……except left to ones own brand of integrity and ethics, without oversight, unfettered, the temptation to lie, cheat, and steal becomes too great. So why not support Bernie in his quest for a social and economic level playing field, that Socialism can definitely create. Do that, and in the doing, you’ll reclaim your own personal power, by pro-actively working to “replace this broken system, with a better one.” it won’t happen by itself.
This is true and I appreciate the way you stated it but also understand that during my short lifetime all I have seen are crooks so it is hard to distinguish the good from the bad and thus I must merely wait and see what comes from Bernie. Of course I am automatically aligned more towards him than the others but I am always skeptical of everything now.
I don’t necessarily mind socialism but sometimes that defines different things for different people; I just don’t want to be a minimum wage slave (or be forcefed toxic frankenfood, or live in a destroyed world), that is all.
FDA: Fraud, Disease, Abuse
Science/medicine pretends the body is a machine and treats it like one. It isn’t. This is why iatrogenic – doctor or medical induced – is the third or second biggest killer in the US and fourth in other developed nations. We have reached the point where seeing a doctor is one of the most dangerous lifestyle choices anyone can make.
Endoscopies and Colonoscopies have saved WAY more lives than they could ever risk. The good doctors know how to clean their instruments correctly and the risk is VERY low.
If you read the article you would realize that it is no longer a matter of simply cleaning the instrument; for the company that produces them underhandedly changed the design which makes them immune to being cleaned properly and thus causing the health problems.
This is a regulatory problem, not a bicker about whether or not shoving a camera up your you know where when you should just be eating better, is a good procedure or not. It isn’t.
Those lives wouldn’t of needed to be “saved” if the system wouldn’t of sickened them to begin with! 🙂

The folks in the Scandinavian countries, are absolutely no different than us. All that’s different is the social and economic political system, that delivers benefits of being a citizen of that country. If you don’t want to participate in a toxic culture, as they commented in the sixties, “tune in, and drop out.” I’ve been basically living a counter culture life for most of adult years. My friends are also in the same culture. Nevertheless, I conducted all of my daily affairs with an earth first, people first, honesty, and integrity first, as have most all of the people I associate with. Even when I built and ran two companies for more than eighteen years, I ran them with these new realities. If you don’t want to eat toxic food, DON’T! Even during the sixties, while I was building my first company, I spent a good deal of my spare time as a social activist, supporting the civil rights movement, and the anti-war movement. When we take positive, constructive (rather than destructive) action, we regain, and experience our own power, which spills over, and defines how we live our lives, and how much satisfaction we achieve.
If you don’t want to work for minimum wages, DON’T! Evaluate your skills, and positive personal qualities, that can transfer as an asset to an employer. Take some time, and list ALL of your activities that you really enjoy. Then do some research (you have the advantage of the internet, that I didn’t,) to do the research, to see how what turns you on, translate/transfer to the various work fields. 95% of our success in the world of work, is ultimately determined by our passion, our turn on for the work we do. The other positive, winning personal quality is our degree of persistence, alongside determining what is actually achievable. When you identify well paying work activities, determine what skill sets (if any) you would need to acquire, in order to get the work you desire, and be successful. Then GO AND GET THEM! In short take action. Spend part of your time as a social activist, and you’ll see yourself automatically sharpening your work related skills, I found, and sharpened my ability to communicate. I even went back to school in the evening while running my company, and eventually completed my education.
I have a younger friend who had been an industrial designer for a number of years, who one day decided that he no longer wanted to design future garage sale products, and dropped out, and did the work I’ve shared with you. He found that he loved the whole movement toward clean energy, and wound up in the solar industry, and much happier and productive for it. If you work well with your hands, and are attracted to alternative energy, you can have a future in these industries, that will pay you a lot more than minimum wage. But you’ll need to TAKE ACTION! Lack of following sterilization procedures can be deadly. The chemical used to sterilize the scopes kill all living thing like glyphosates. Agent Orange. Old Round up formula. When hospital procedures are lax..the patient suffers…and in some cases die. Patient care is lost in the process of making money!

Yet, the system is designed to allow the People a reactive mode only. GATEKEEPERS are paid to direct the People/You into these pretend paths which will only burn out good and well-meaning People by burning up and wasting their time, energy, money and/or resources with little or no positive and/or lasting results. They’re paid by their masters, the real power behind government i.e. SPECIAL INTEREST, to keep the People/You from waking up to these truths…
If the People/You don’t wake up then they will continue by default to control the closed system. Think about it! Why should it have taken women sixty years to get the right to vote? Why should it have taken so many years for blacks to get the right to vote?

People are coming to understand that not unlike the original need for a Constitution and Bill of Rights, the true strength of a People’s Branch of government is that it will help them protect themselves from the tyranny of government and SPECIAL INTEREST. They are coming to realize that their own best interest and the best interest of the vast majority of the people are one and the same.
Divide and conquer has long been used by SPECIAL INTEREST to fool the People into believing it’s only their peers – others like themselves that are their real enemy. They don’t want YOU to know it’s really them, SPECIAL INTEREST, that’s YOUR real problem – literally. They do this simply by keeping the People’s/Your attention focused on what they say is the problem and THEIR solution.
Ever heard of Problem, Reaction, Solution? Don’t you get it? Look at what others say – in the many forums (here and/or elsewhere)… Can’t you see it? Most have their attention subverted! Look at what they’re focusing on! Some, many or all may simply be some form of Troll or dis-information pusher. Even if some are well-meaning they mostly affect You into diverting Your attention away from the systems control methods. Many do these things in hopes of stopping the People/You from seeing the Real Actionable Solution of a People’s Branch!
Yet, people are coming to realize that SPECIAL INTEREST and their GATEKEEPERS are benefiting from Their Own Form of Direct Participation (i.e. influence/manipulation) in government at the expense and detriment of the People’s/Your Own Best Interest. Therefore, until the People/You wake up and adopt this, People’s Branch of government, mechanism for Direct Participation in government, then the People’s/Your own best interest will only continue to suffer.
It is exactly because SPECIAL INTEREST will always continue to trample the People’s/Your best interest that from time to time Reasonable, Responsible and Conscientious people have to resort to revolution – violent or otherwise!
ABOVE EVERYTHING THE PROPAGANDISTS THROW AT YOU – REMEMBER THIS: A People’s Branch of government can and will Stop/Reform/Amend/Reverse and Heal the power structure and justice system. A People’s Branch will see that those responsible for governmental wrongs are justly punished!
Wake up or die asleep it’s up to you! Many ills of every kind, Autism, Cancers, Diabetes etc., etc., are now rampant and on the rise. How could these have gotten to this point without the governments complicity? Behind the People’s/Your back, without their/your awareness and/or consent, the government (local, state and national) is allowing the People/You and Your Loved Ones to be harmed/poisoned in multifaceted ways. Can you say TPP, GMO, Vaccines, Fluoride etc., etc. Reasonable, Responsible and Conscientious People are choosing to wake up! You too can Wake-Up to the only non-violent way to take your government away from SPECIAL INTEREST.
Only when citizens have a direct participation in their government concerning matters that affect them will their and their loved ones’ issues (Freedoms, Rights, Security, Financial, Health, Political and Justice etc.) have a true chance to be properly addressed!
Every Reasonable, Responsible and Conscientious person should be asking themselves WHY DO LEADERS OF BOTH MAJOR PARTIES HATE THE IDEA OF A PEOPLES BRANCH?
Those that truly seek fair and equitable solutions can find them at The People’s Branch. Implementing a People’s Branch in your local area is the key you have been waiting for….
Ultimately a People’s Branch of government will hold accountable those behind government’s multifaceted injustices and wrong doings – namely, the governmental authorities doing SPECIAL INTEREST bidding!
Remember, persons (governmental etc.,) acting against the best interest of the People should be forewarned that, at a future date, their actions may be deemed unlawful and therefore punishable. They should be aware that their actions or lack thereof that result in the creation of wrongs, such as so called “trade agreements,” that ultimately harm the People’s best interest may at some point be adjudicated to be harmful and therefore unlawful. Further, it would be wise of the wrong doers to realize that they, the perpetrators of wrongs, may be held responsible and accountable for those wrongs as easily as a simple declaration or adjudication! Said wrongs may have dire consequences for those found to have helped implement or aided their authorization, through their actions or lack thereof. Such individuals may be found guilty of sedition and/or treason and tried for treason to the United States of America. Any and all elected officials and officeholders would do well to remember that there’s no statutes of limitation for the crime of treason!
Many wrongs, perpetrated upon the People, such as “Fast Tracking, NAFTA, TPP, Shielding GMOs and/or their harm from discovery, etc., etc.,” may yet result in charges and convictions of treason for those responsible and accountable either directly and/or indirectly for their implementation. Charges and convictions for treason of government officials may be possible if it’s found that they failed to represent the best interest of the People and their actions subsequently turn out to undermine national security. It should be understood that any governmental officials, especially current or ex-presidents and current or ex-congressional officeholders, may be open to charges of treason should their actions and/or lack of actions be deemed to have undermined national security. i.e. if they failed to guard, protect, and improve/promote national security through any number of means – ECONOMICAL, HEALTH, DEFENCE, STOP CORRUPTION, CHECKS & BALANCES etc. Everyone would do well to remember that the final judgment rendered by the People concerning many governmental wrongs has yet to be written!
