  1. This makes a lot of sence to me. All mattress are the same except for an organic material mattress no chemicals.

  2. Because some idiots smoke in bed we all have to suffer? How many more die from chemical exposure than smoking in bed? Tell the government to stop butting into my business! Most of their “protection” does more harm than good.

    1. Exactly right.
PS: Except for a couple of brief hotel stays, I haven’t slept on a commercial mattress for close to seven years. (I made my own DIY mattress from coconut fiber. It works. I had arthritis, mind you!)

  3. Flame retardants are found in breast milk as per a California study… so noo more combustable children… sorry….

  4. My co-worker broke out in a body rash and linked it to a new mattress he bought, returned the mattress for one that did not have flame retardants and his symptoms went away. Not surprising that they could cause thyroid cancer, there are bromides in the mix, which messes with the thyroid. I think the awakening and theme of modern life is: man-made chemicals = trouble. If chemicals continue to remain in food, water, air and other products, we will never solve the diseases of modern times.
