Soda Blocks Brain Repair

Please don’t give your child sugar after a brain injury. This definitely includes the fructose in a soda. Action Alert!
New evidence shows that processed sugars prevent the brain’s ability to heal after head trauma. As Dr. Russell Blaylock reported in his December 2015 Blaylock Wellness Report, laboratory rats were trained for five days to escape a maze. Next, the rats were randomly assigned to groups that were fed either plain water or fructose-infused water for six weeks. In the seventh week, the rats underwent a procedure to reproduce the aspects of a human traumatic brain injury. After another six weeks, the rats were retested on their ability to escape the maze.
The rats on the sugar diet took 30% longer to finish the maze than those who drank plain water.
The sugar diet had other negative effects on the brain as well. The researchers found that sugar impaired with the ability of neurons to communicate with each other, rewire connections after injury, record memories, and produce enough energy for the body to perform basic functions.
One of the scientists summed up the main takeaway from the study: “Reduce fructose in your diet if you want to protect your brain.” The implication is to reduce fructose intake even if you are not brain injured—but especially if you are.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that 1.6 to 3.8 million sports-and-recreation-related concussions occur in the US each year, not to mention all the soldiers with brain injuries returning home from fighting overseas. About 5 million Americans live with ongoing disability from a traumatic brain injury.
In connecting the dots here, keep in mind that the average American consumes about twenty-seven pounds of high-fructose corn syrup each year. Yet no one is even warning parents to eliminate sodas and other high-fructose drinks and foods when their children are injured.
Action Alert! Write to the FDA and tell them to issue a warning to doctors and parents about this new research. Explain how fructose keeps the brain from repairing itself, especially in patients who have brain injuries. Please send your message immediately!

  1. Guess you should give them cannabis instead.
A positive THC screen is associated with decreased mortality after sustaining a traumatic brain injury
Title of the study Effect of marijuana use on outcomes in traumatic brain injury.
    Abstract
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Several studies have demonstrated neuroprotective effects of cannabinoids. The objective of this study was to establish a relationship between the presence of a positive toxicology screen for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and mortality after TBI. A 3-year retrospective review of registry data at a Level I center of patients sustaining TBI having a toxicology screen was performed. Pediatric patients (younger than 15 years) and patients with a suspected nonsurvivable injury were excluded. The THC(+) group was compared with the THC(-) group with respect to injury mechanism, severity, disposition, and mortality. Logistic regression was used to determine independent associations with mortality. There were 446 cases meeting all inclusion criteria. The incidence of a positive THC screen was 18.4 per cent (82). Overall mortality was 9.9 per cent (44); however, mortality in the THC(+) group (2.4% [two]) was significantly decreased compared with the THC(-) group (11.5% [42]; P = 0.012). After adjusting for differences between the study cohorts on logistic regression, a THC(+) screen was independently associated with survival after TBI (odds ratio, 0.224; 95% confidence interval, 0.051 to 0.991; P = 0.049). A positive THC screen is associated with decreased mortality in adult patients sustaining TBI.

  2. Which is better? The quick way? Jump into an all out war and in the process destroy much of the environment with radiation poisoning? That’s the quick win. But, you are still left with no assurance that you will not be destroyed in the process. So? What are the options?
The slow win. Destroy them slowly from within. Zap them of their vitality and ability to fight and resist. After all.. some tried to attack Hitler’s vitality by getting to his garden. Its an old principle of war.
Under the guise of corporate greed, men are intentionally trying to destroy us en mass. Its takes years… but this way the land is not poisoned by radiation and debris. And, they do not get bombed back potentially into oblivion.
Those egomaniacs who accept bribes are greed driven. But those paying the massive bribes are the ones with the plan.
    Beam me up Scotty.

  3. I immediately assumed you meant baking soda and came here with my “fists up”. Sugary soft drinks is actually what you’re writing about – not soda.

  4. Actually soda would not be so bad if it was made with real sugar. I to this day still use it medicinally for migraine headaches. Too much salt and heavy food-high meat diet is also bad for the brain and other organs and soda just acts as drano is to a clogged drain.

  5. “the rats underwent a procedure to reproduce the aspects of a human traumatic brain injury”… animal testing (even on rats), is something I can’t get behind.
