One more example of the rampant crony capitalism in food.
The judge who ruled that consumers have no right to consume milk from their own cows, and no right even to choose their own foods, has resigned his job so he can join one of Monsanto’s law firms.
Readers will recall that Dane County (Wisconsin) Circuit Court Judge Patrick J. Fiedler’s recent ruling against the property rights of cow owners and their right to consume raw milk from their own cows earned the first nomination for our new Tyranny of the Year Award.
Well, he is a judge no longer. He now works for the Axley Brynelson law firm, which defended Monsanto against a patent infringement case in early 2010. Here’s the interesting part: In that case, an Australian firm, GTL, sued Monsanto and several other companies for using its patented methods for analyzing DNA sequences. But even though it was a federal case, the district court that heard the matter sits in Dane County, Wisconsin, where Fiedler served as judge!
So here we have a judge ruling against pure, raw milk, which drives consumers back to standard milk from cows fed antibiotics, growth hormones (sold—and genetically engineered—by Monsanto), and grain (from seed sold—and genetically engineered—by Monsanto). And then, immediately after his ruling, he goes to work for the law firm that defended Monsanto on a genetic engineering case.
We aren’t the least bit surprised. Are you?

I am not at all surprised about the Monsato deal ! Judges ,politicians ,all leave a lot to be desired these days-HONESTY does not seem to be one of them !

There ought to be a law.
It isn’t a revolving door, its a cattle chute. The foxes have taken over the hen house. We can’t stop them from taking a job with a corporation like Monsanto, but there should be a law against them leaving a corporation and going into the legislature or the bench where their decisions will be bias.
Well, this looks like grounds for many decisions to be questioned, if not overturned on appeal. A conflict of interest if ever there was one!

Well, I’m glad to find out that this so called “judge” is no longer in a position to make rulings that adversely affect (affect, not the ubiquitously mis-used Impact) the public. Companies such as Monsanto need restraints on their lobbying efforts to push deleterious products by way of congress.
The alphabet soup agencies of the federal government (besides NOT having constitutional authority) are enacting constitutionally unlawful and disingenuous, dangerous protocols to an unaware public.
It’s not surprising that a judge is totally corrupt; a judge is a glorified lawyer, that’s all, and most lawyers are as-low-as-you-can-go as human beings. They have a license to steal and usually take the opportunity to do so. You definitely wouldn’t want this idiot’s karma, that’s for sure!
Worked for 50 years and still for many good, honest lawyers. Lawyers who live for “billing hours” are the ones to watch! We need lawyers even more today than yesteryear because of the many laws and regulations passed by legislators (remember, the majority of the Demos in Congress are lawyers who obviously saw a better way to make money and steal, while most Repubs are business or professionals). What bothers me are judges that are selected by governors and presidents for political reasons, not because they are experienced for the judgeship but because it was a payback! See this a lot in CA where we live.
What a nightmare! It just keeps getting worse and worse. Companies like Monsanto have lost any hint of a conscience. It’s just a revolving door with no shame. Pfizer to the FDA, FDA to Monsanto, from the bench to a Monsanto related law firm, etc. etc.!!! We are all having fun and getting RICH! wheee!
Corruption in the judiciary runs all the way to the Supreme Court. This “Occupy” movement must NOT fail; must NOT become corrupted; must NOT become co-opted like the failed [billionaires] “tea party” was.
I am awstruck at the low, but also happy to here that someone out there are with eyes wide open. I truly feel that a mass campaign should be launched against this judge, and the appeal court and the Federal Attorney General should be encouraged to investigate this judge. I think it is time for the company that sued this food company should activate it’s case and start over. It would tear my heart apart to have to call myself a friend or associate to such person. I would not feel comfortable eating at the same table with him. He actually ruled against healthy cow milk for the poisons they are selling on the shelves in grocery stores. Is this person this low and baseless. I truly understand what it means to become a humanoid; a person who lack the ability to show and express human emotions; leading everything to the primitive side of the brain. My dog Couta is more selective, she refuses to eat pecans purchase from the supermarkets, but loves fresh pecans . This judge has less wisdom and actually went to a university and study law. I guess his aim was to get in a seat where he could really harm the world. In plain site!
I’m not all that surprised. I’m an employee and student at a California State University. With regard to Monsanto, about 6 or 7 years ago, a co-worker told me of an episode of corporate greed winning over organic farming. They were assisting a student enrolled in Environmental Studies and this student, while in class, was told of a law suit Monsanto brought against a organic farmer. This farmer’s land was along side land Monsanto had planted with genetically engineered seed (I think it was wheat). The law suit was brought against the farmer for using Monsanto’s genetically engineered seed without payinig for it. As the farmer practiced organic farming, he avoided using genetically engineered seed. After monitoring his fences, the farmer found that the birds (who were feeding on Monsanto crops) pooped Monsanto seed on to his (and all other surrounding) land after feeding. Apparently an act of nature made no difference to Monsanto, In all honesty, I don’t remember if Monsanto won the case, but, as money carries more weight than common sense, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had. It’s truly a shame that the survival of human beings is going to be determined by Monsanto and enforced with rulings by ex-judges who have replaced what is right with the letter of the law … and greed.
It would not at all surprise me if it would be found Monsanto deliberately plants GMO crops next to organic or non-GMO farmers’ fields knowing their crops will contaminate the other farmers’ fields so they CAN sue them for infringing their abominable patents.
There ought to be a law requiring GMO crops to be isolated where there is no chance of them contaminating any one else’s crops, and allowing farmers who have been damaged by Monsanto’s practices to sue Monsanto for contaminating their fields and ruining their crops.
Fair is fair. Monsanto is everything BUT fair.
I am not surprised but I am horrified that there is so much collusion between Monsanto and our government on all levels. Since they are so entrenched in our farm system and food system I think it will take a food revolution to change the status quo. By this I mean people refusing to buy products that have GE origins and this includes HFCS. The people need to be growing their own food, and carefully monitoring the food habits of their family. Otherwise we will all be sick and weak and as I look around me and see the people I think this has already begun to happen.
I am always surprised that people can be so ignorant and/or greed driven. Denial is a powerful aphrodisiac. It keeps us asleep to the truth. We have to always be vigilant of what we tell ourselves. If we lie to ourselves, we tell that lie to others.

Consider also what just happened in a federal court in Texas. A Dallas business owner was involved in a civil dispute and paid millions of dollars to lawyers, and when he objected to additional fees after settling the case, they had a “friendly” judge seize all of his possessions, without any notice or hearing, and essentially ordered him under “house arrest” as an involuntary servant to the lawyers. The business owner has been under this “servant” order for 10 months and is prohibited from owning any possessions, prohibited from working, etc..

THE COURT: “I’m telling you don’t scr-w with me. You are a fool, a fool, a fool, a fool to scr-w with a federal judge, and if you don’t understand that, I can make you understand it. I have the force of the Navy, Army, Marines and Navy behind me.”
THE COURT: “You realize that order is an order of the Court. So any failure to comply with that order is contempt, punishable by lots of dollars, punishable by possible jail, death”

Its not a revolving door, but a cattle chute. The foxes have all taken up their position in the White House and its agencies. We need stong independent legislators who will put the needs of the people first. If we could get a law to require the labeling of genetically engineered foods (GMOs), mighty Monsanto would be knocked off its lofty perch.
