With the government shutdown, compounding got a temporary reprieve, but not for long. Action Alert!
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the seriously flawed compounding bill is on the verge of passage: it has already passed in the House, and is now in the Senate waiting to be acted upon. Supporters of the bill in the Senate have requested that the bill be brought to the floor for a vote by unanimous consent (that is, without objections being raised or any tally of who voted). Fortunately, some senators objected to this subterfuge, which held up the vote—for a short while.
With the government shutdown, Congress has also been more focused on funding issues—the FDA doesn’t have enough funding right now to even carry out its existing duties, much less any new ones. Once funding issues are resolved, however, or even before, compounding will once again become a high priority issue. Because the bill has so much bipartisan support in Congress, it’s certain to pass. It’s vital therefore that we keep asking the Senate to amend the bill!
Our greatest concern is that the bill will limit compounded nutrients delivered intravenously—specifically those without a USP monograph (a grandfathered drug) or not on a pre-approved FDA list of drugs. In addition, compounded drugs resembling FDA-approved and marketed drugs would still be considered illegal. This would enable drug companies to raise prices on some drugs to astronomical levels. Please read our previous coverage of the issue for more information
Action Alert! Please send your senators another Action Alert email, and ask them to amend the Senate compounding bill immediately. We cannot stress how urgent this is—please take action if you haven’t done so already!

they the oradox md/s can/t help you and so they don/t want anyone else to help you iether how fair is that
Please DO NOT take away our compounded medications. We need them!!!
I would have signed on to this action notice except the signup asked for more info than you really need. You do not need my address and phone number to get my opinion or for a petition, etc.
This sound more like and excuse to get me on a mailing or phone call list for some orgnization trying to sell stuff.
I am so very tired of not being able to even control what I eat. how ridiculous for someone else tell me what is best for me and my family.
We have already lost too many people because of this type of drug not being regulated. How many more do we need to loose?

The pharmaceutical compounding bill must be amended to meet the democratically protected rights of those like myself and my family who believe in holistic compounding. Compounded substances meet the specific needs of individual patients. Drugs have long lists of side effects yet they draw in huge amounts of money. This issue is about health and about individual freedom.
Medicine should not be a monopoly but we are very close to that now. I urge you to vote on the side of the people, and amend the Senate compounding bill as soon as possible to reflect my family’s views.
Thank you for reading my concerns. I appreciate that.
Sincerely,

Elimination is not the answer. This will sorely infringe upon the health of many and only make the wallets of the big pharma fatter
I am 80 years old, take NO medications and purchase many of my supplements from a compounding pharmacy,,, It would be tragic for me and many others
Please amend the Senate compounding bill immediately. Protect my rights to have my natural drugs compounded!
Thank you.
Whatever happened to voting on something first? It’s not right that a bill could be passed without allowing anyone to vote either for or against it. Since when can they just bully something through legislation without allowing a bill to be proberly amended first? What ever happened to just voting?
Our government is in bed with big business, has been for years and this administration is not different…maybe worse. FDA has long been trying there best to annihilate the vitamine and herbal suppliment industry who happen to have better answers to health issues without side effects that actually cures. Big business pharmacuetical companies continue to produce producets that cause horrendous side effects cuasing the body to other diseases. Any Rx product for acid reflux causes liver and kidney disease, same for pharmacuetical cholesterol, and now people are dying from much of these medicine men cures. For the government to hold The People hostage and force them to take poisons is wrong and plan evil for the sake of the almighty dollar. The FDA cowards with vitamin C intravenous has a better track record destroying cancer than big business Chemo. Why do you insist on this. Kill this bill, don’t kill me.
Drug companies make huge profit off of drugs through pattens & laws that restrict the manufacturing of drugs. These policies are not good for people who need drugs or for our economy as a whole. The Compounding Bill, as it is being proposed, is not good for any one but the drug companies.
Stop pushing drugs as a panacea for medical conditions. As one who has food, severe chemical allergies, and is allergic to all antibiotics, I have a right, as a citizen and human being to do what is, in the opinion of qualified medical practitioners, to do what is best for my health.
I am writing to urge you to amend the Senate compounding bill immediately. There are many people with many different health needs that critically need access to compouning nutrients and medicines, that void of common allergens due to special health needs where they can not tolerate either the inactive ingredients of a medicine or nutrient and must have the option that compounding can offer for living. When the compounded main ingredient that is needed is available in pure, bulk form at a reasonable price, the compounding can be customized to help the individual get the health help they need without the other ingredients preventing that opportunity for them.
I again urge you to amend the Senate compounding bill immediately for these and many other critically necessary reasons.
Thank you.

I am asking the Senate to amend the bill in regard of the compounding bill. Many people rely on these pharmacies to prepare their medications because of specific needs that regular medications can not address.i.e. Allergies to the fillers that are in the regular drugs,or the med needs to be taken transdermally or by injections because of their unique medical situation . Those people who are wanting to pass this bill should thank God that they are not one of these people who have special medical needs.
